  • OCTOSTEAM SCULPTURE

  • ANCESTRAL GATEWAY

A 26ft tall statue made of aluminum and steel frame with led illumination.

Each component of the statue has significance. The three towers represent the federal, state, and local levels of law enforcement. On top of each pillar rests an illuminated eternal flame to remind law enforcement of their lost comrades. Centered bellow these flames is an eagle with a 9ft wingspan that embodies the guardian of the country. The statue was placed over the hill facing east over the valley to represent protection over Las Vegas. On its wings is a quote stating “In valor there is hope.” The talons of the eagle grip a shield, a badge of honor worn by officers, which is enveloped within the American flag. A thin blue light wraps around the slate base, representing the thin blue line.

Team of artist: Adolfo Gonzalez, Daye Adelaja, Denise R. Duarte, Sylvester Collier, and Vicki Richardson

A 19ft tall and 1” thick organic form complex rolled steel sculpture. Custom two toned harlequin paint with graphics.

Shaped as if it were two arms reaching for the stars, the graphics depict silhouettes of people reaching. Due to the paint used, it changes color depending on the angle you are viewing it from. The concept came when the team of four artist came together and wanted to tell a story of a community who is always striving to better themselves…

Reaching for your dreams,

This sculpture is 9ft tall and 30ft long.

Adolfo Gonzalez was one of ten artist that were selected by the Clark County Art Commission to create an art piece for mediums (street dividers) throughout Las Vegas, NV.

The artist chose to create a steampunk piece to capture the attention of on-lookers from all ages. His love for cars and art is what inspired him! He integrated car parts, farm pieces, and metal to create this Sci-Fi Victorian piece, a combination of an octopus and a time machine for his concept.
